The Role

We are seeking an innovative and dedicated individual to take on the role of Head of Year. You will be responsible for overseeing the academic, social, and emotional development of our students within a particular year group. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking to make a significant positive impact on the lives of young learners and contribute to the development of the school culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a year group, ensuring an inclusive learning environment that caters to the diverse needs of students.
• Develop and implement effective strategies for academic and personal development.
• Support teachers in classroom management and academic planning to foster student engagement.
• Conduct regular assessments of student progress and provide feedback to enhance learning outcomes.
• Organize and facilitate year group events, including parent-teacher meetings, extracurricular activities, and field trips.
• Champion the emotional wellbeing of students, promoting resilience and positive mental health.
• Collaborate with various departments to ensure a cohesive approach to education.
• Lead the development and delivery of year group policies and initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

• A qualified teacher with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
• Minimum of 5 years’ teaching experience, with a track record of delivering high-quality education.
• Experience in a leadership role, preferably in a school setting.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding and the pastoral care system within schools.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with students, staff, and parents.
• A commitment to continuous professional development and growth.
