Job Responsibilities

As a Milling Machine Operator, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Setting up and operating vertical and horizontal milling machines according to specifications.
• Reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
• Performing quality control checks throughout the machining process to ensure accuracy and adherence to specifications.
• Maintaining and troubleshooting machines to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
• Collaborating with engineers and other team members to troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
• Adhering to safety protocols and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
• Documenting production metrics and any incidents that may occur during operation.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this milling machine job will meet the following criteria:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in machining preferred.
• Proven experience operating milling machines in a manufacturing setting (minimum 2 years).
• Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and materials.
• Ability to interpret complex blueprints and technical drawings.
• Proficient in using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
