Role Overview

The Athletic Director will oversee all athletics at Pine Valley High School, including grades 9 through 12. This includes managing coaching staff, scheduling events, budgeting for athletic programs, and ensuring compliance with district policies and state regulations. The Athletic Director will serve as a vital link between coaches, athletes, parents, and the school administration.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement a strategic vision for the athletic department that aligns with the school’s mission and goals.
Manage and supervise all athletic programs, ensuring they meet the standards set forth by the state and district.
Recruit, hire, and evaluate coaching staff; promote professional development and training opportunities for coaches.
Ensure all teams have adequate resources for success including equipment, facilities, and scheduling.
Foster positive relationships and maintain open communication with student-athletes, parents, and the community.
Oversee budget creation, allocation of funds, and fundraising for athletic programs.
Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations as well as health and safety guidelines.
Promote and oversee student-athlete academic performance and eligibility standards.
Organize and coordinate athletic events, including competitions, leagues, and tournaments.
Collaborate with the school administration to integrate athletics into the overall educational program.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this athletic director job opening will possess the following qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Education, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
Previous experience in athletic administration or coaching is required, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role.
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with coaches, faculty, parents, and student-athletes.
